Kylie Jenner just debuted Y2K red skunk stripe hair and a micro fringe

Even though Kylie Jenner has toyed with rainbow hair colours in the past, trying Little Mermaid red, aqua blue, golden brunette and Barbie pink (among others) thanks to her extensive wig collection, recently she’s been keeping things pretty consistent. She’s made XXL hair her signature over the past couple of years, but kept the colour close to her natural shade of dark brunette.

But, for her stint on the front cover of former French Vogue editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book magazine, Kylie decided to take things in a very experimental direction, getting playful and serving up a whole bunch of nineties-inspired lewks.

Even better, Kylie ¨C along with her glam squad: hair stylist, Jesus Guerrero and makeup artist, Ariel Tejada ¨C has been sharing all the behind the scenes deets from the shoot to bring us up to speed.

One super out-there look saw Kylie debut a red skunk stripe hair colour, complete with a micro fringe. The stripes were introduced like chunky highlights to nod to the throwback Y2K trend that Rihanna, Bella Hadid, Dua Lip and Billie Eilish have all previously tried also.

Meanwhile, like her sister Kim, who’s been rocking a Pammy updo and ¡®90s lip liner, Kylie appears to have taken some inspo from Pamela Anderson, pairing her rebel hairstyle with razor thin brows and grungey nude lined lips.

She also created a darker gothic rendition of the lip, with black lip liner encircling a pop of blood red lipstick in the centre of her lips which she wore with a diffused halo smoky eye.

And keeping the renegade theme going, she chose a tough, choppy mullet for another look, worn with an oversized, beaten brown leather jacket and cowboy boots.

One of the most playful looks from the shoot saw Kylie wear a three-tiered necklace made out of her KYLIE liquid lipsticks (and nothing else underneath). To keep her hair out the way, she wore a loose, messy updo with her makeup kept neutral, other than her famous statement pinky-nude pout.

While it may have only been a wig, we love to see Kylie Jenner enjoy experimenting with her hair and makeup, although we’re still working out what occasion we have coming up that would work with skunk stripe hair¡
